lowpan-tools software package provides Base programs for LoWPAN in Linux, the net-tools for LoWPAN, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install lowpan-tools
lowpan-tools is installed in your system.
Make ensure the lowpan-tools package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep lowpan-tools *
You will get with lowpan-tools package name, version, architecture and description in a table
